- Refers to the main line of the Pennsylvania railroad. Originally
executives escaped the city to their "farms" (estates)
out in the country via train, and the strip of about 20 miles
still is considered prime Pennsylvania real estate. As a transplant
from the wrong side of the river, I enjoy combining an insider's
perspective with the irreverence of an outsider. Nobody gets
to take themselves too seriously.
