- Gin's friend and neighbor, also the victim. I originally
thought this book would be suspense--faster pace, no dead body,
shake things up. My agent ran the idea past my editor and the
message came back, "He liked the old lady, but kill her."
I took that to mean, "You're writing a mystery series, so
write a MYSTERY." Letty was too adorable to eliminate, so
Liz got the call.
